Meet again @ 12 Noon, Frank Ogawa Plaza, Oakland, Broadway & 14th St. for lunch and another march

In solidarity with the General Strike called for by the General Assembly of Occupy Oakland, Causa Justa :: Just Cause will march on Bank of America and Wells Fargo Wed., Nov. 2 to demand a moratorium on foreclosures and to stop investments in detention centers.

The General Strike and Mass Day of Action will be held in solidarity with the worldwide Occupy Movement as a response against an economic system built on inequality and corporate power. The goal of the general strike is to shut down the city of Oakland for one day to show that it truly is the 99%, not the 1%, that controls what happens in our society.

Occupy Oakland will gather again at 5pm at the Plaza to march to the Port of Oakland and shut it down!

Wells Fargo Bank received $43.7 billion in bailout funds, but continues to foreclose on families and neglects to pay taxes. It is estimated that since 2007, some 2.5 million foreclosures have taken place.

We are calling on Wells Fargo to stop its investments in the GEO Group and other corporations that are profiting off of immigrant detention centers and private prisons that detain immigrants and separate families.

In California, Bank of America raised the number of notices of default on homeowners by 182.4% from July to August, according to San Diego-based research firm DataQuick. Bank of America filed new foreclosure proceedings on 6,478 homes in the Golden State.

We want the banksters to stop foreclosing on our properties and start negotiating with us!

Come Wednesday and be a part of history!
