We are the 99%. We are reclaiming our democracy. And we are reclaiming our homes.

When: Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2pm

Where: West Oakland BART Station Rally & March to Foreclosed Property in West Oakland

Occupy Oakland and Causa Justa :: Just Cause are working together on the National Day of Action to Stop Foreclosures to occupy a foreclosed home in West Oakland and demand that the financial institution that now owns it turn it in to low-income housing.

The National Day of Action is a call to stop fraudulent lending practices and illegal evictions by banks. It marks the beginning of the Occupy Our Homes Campaign taking place in 27 cities, to amplify the injustices faced by homeowners whose homes have basically been stolen by Big Banks.
If we can ensure that big banks don’t go under, why can’t we ensure that American families  stay in their homes?

In Oakland more than 50% of the people who are facing foreclosure are long-term residents. (//www.calreinvest.org/publications/crc-reports) To stop the displacement of long-term residents from Oakland and amplify the fight to keep families in their homes, we are OCCUPYING our homes in solidarity with 27 cities across the nation! We are the 99%!
