The Perez family scored a victory against Freddie Mac by proving that the bank had lied about properly filing their eviction notice.

As a result, the hearing that was set for Thursday, Oct. 18, was called off and the family’s housing is a little more secure for the time being.

There is a lot more to do to ensure that the family can achieve their demand of staying in their home and having it eventually turned over to a community land trust, but the immediate threat of eviction has been thwarted!
